After completing a landscape upgrade for this customer he told us he was concerned with the canal adjacent to his yard. He said he had lost 4-5 feet of yard and didn’t want to continue to lose land. We implemented a simple rip rap erosion control system. We measured the erosion at the top of the shoreline five years later and had found it receded less than one inch. Subsequently, we corrected his back yard lakeshore by restoring the land he had lost and then installing rip rap to hold in our system and prevent future erosion.
